Math students and those working in math-related professions work towards the most efficient ways to express numbers. Sometimes numbers, such as Irrational Numbers, need to be in simplest, exact-value form so calculations will flow more easily and accurately. Lesson 1.2 clarifies some of the methods used to simplify these expressions. The last section, Lesson 1.3, will further investigate the use of these simplification skills as a means to solve radical equations. Restrictions on the equation variables are also discussed.
