Lesson 4.2: Angle Properties in Triangles and Other Polygons
Design and construction include a lot of different shapes, but the simplest shapes are enclosed figures made by connecting a number of straight line segments. These resulting shapes are called polygons. Of the polygons, the triangle is the most basic and has only three sides. Any polygon can be broken down into triangles, so a strong understanding of triangles will open the door to understanding other polygons.
In Lesson 4.2, you will
- predict and prove interior angle sums for triangles and other polygons
- predict and prove relationships between interior and exterior angles for triangles and other polygons
- solve problems involving angles in triangles and polygons
