B. Assignments

For each lesson there will be an "Explore Your Understanding" assignment with same title (example: "Explore Your Understanding 1.2). These assignments are worth marks, so it's important that you use the preceding Practice questions to check your understanding before you complete the graded assignment. You should always show all your steps to communicate your thought process and do your best work so you can achieve the highest mark possible.


PDF Documents

You will complete most of your work on paper, and it is best to download the PDF document, print it, and work on a hard copy. This allows you to hand-write all your steps. 

We require that you clearly and coherently show all the steps that lead to your final answer for each question on an assignment.  These steps can include the following: provide necessary formulas, substitution of values, complete conversions, use proper math notation for solving equations and solution verification, quote answers to the correct decimal value, and include units when required.

Also, some students will use the print Workbook package which allows them to work on a hard copy without requiring the printing of the assignments.

If you don't have access to a printer or the printed Workbook, you may hand-write your work on plain or lined paper.  Be sure to clearly state your name, the assignment name, each question number, and show your complete work on the paper.

If you are submitting online, you will need to scan it to a single PDF file and upload it to the correct assignment submission page.

Online Submission Methods

Assignments in the online course must be submitted online as a single continuous PDF file. To submit them, go to the page where you download the assignment. You can do this by either:

(1) Going to the Table of Contents (under the "Content" menu), scrolling down to find the assignment, and clicking the link.

OR

(2) Going to the "Grades" menu, scrolling down to the correct assignment, and clicking on the link.

Once you have reached this page, you will click "Add Submission." Here you will be able to upload your assignment file and write any comments necessary. Please note that you will need to press the "Submit Assignment" button in order for your assignment to show up for grading.

Please ensure that your file name is name in this format: M10C_1.1_FirstNameLastName (for Explore Your Understanding assignments).
