The general form is another way of representing a linear equation. Unlike the slope-intercept form, the general form is capable of representing any linear relation. The closely related form Ax + By = D is also useful for modelling scenarios where a total or a difference is required. In the next lesson, you will explore a third form of linear equation – the slope-point form.
