Diploma Exam Preparation-Literary Exploration

The third type of assignment you will be given on the written portion of your diploma exam is called a Literary Exploration. On the diploma exam, this task is worth 25% of the total exam mark. Your response is scored based on four categories: Thought and Support (10%), Form and Structure (5%), Matters of Choice (5%), and Matters of Correctness (5%)
What to Expect:
Your task is to discuss the topic given to you in the exam question, using a character from a text you have studied in the course, and (if you choose) the text provided on the exam.
- A text, or an excerpt of a text, will be provided on the exam to help you think about the topic to which you will respond.
- This text may be a poem, a short story, or an excerpt from a play or novel.
- The text given to you on the exam will not be one you have studied in the course.
