Unit 2, Section 2 — Introduction

In the novel study section of this unit, you will develop the following skills:

• Reading Literacy—Examine literature to identify key ideas the text creator is communicating and the literary tools being used to communicate those key ideas.
  
  
• Writing Literacy—Apply the writing skills you practiced in the short story section, especially on the Literary Exploration Essay, and learn additional strategies to improve your skills as you write about the literature you are reading.
  
  
• Units 1 and 2 Quiz—Demonstrate your understanding of all of the skills and course content you have learned so far as you write your Units 1 and 2 Quiz.
