How did you become the person you are today? How much of your personality and abilities, thoughts and feelings come from the genes passed on by your parents? How much of you has been shaped by your environment—your experiences, your country, your city, your culture, or your community? Can you think of events in your life—either historical ones or personal ones that really had an impact on you? For example, perhaps one of your parents was a member of the armed forces and had to leave you for many months at a time. That would, no doubt, have a significant impact on your life.
While it isn’t always possible to determine exactly what factors impact each individual, there is no doubt that our environment does impact us in a number of ways.
