3.4 Cracked Vision Board

Just like in real life, the characters in Bradley Hayward’s play Selfie have a vision for their futures.  They have a sense of the type of people they want to be, but something happens to change these characters and the plans they have for themselves.

For this next assignment, you will examine one character’s vision at the beginning of the play Selfie, and then look at how that vision changes by the end of the play.

You will create a vision board that contains two halves.  On one half of the board, you will place artifacts and words (pictures, videos, songs, etc.) that reflect that character’s vision for his or her future at the beginning of the play.  Then, on the other half of the board, you will place artifacts that reflect the character’s vision at the end of the play.

In between the two halves of the board, you will place a symbol of some kind to divide the two sides of the board and to show that the character moved from an old vision to a new one.  This might be a crack down the middle of the board, or a bridge between the two sides.  Use a symbol of the actual event that caused the character’s vision to change.  You decide.

Follow each of the steps on the next page, in order, to complete your assignment.
