Focus on Effect:  Types of Shots

Now, you will learn about the following types of shots in the Elements of Film video:

point-of-view	hand-held	angle of destiny

extreme long shot	medium shot	close-up-shot
canted angle	bird's eye angle

Open your Elements of Film Handout.  If you printed the handout before, use the same handout again to record your observations.

1. Open the Elements of Film video.
   
   
2. Click on the term “Types of Shots” located on the left side of the screen in the menu of the Elements of Film video.
   
   
3. Click on the YouTube icon on the bottom of each definition’s slide to see each technique in action.  What is the effect of each technique?
   
   
   
   
4. Record your observations on your Elements of Film Handout in the space provided.  Which types of shots did you notice?  What was the effect of each type of shot?
