Exploring Character Development
There are several reasons why it’s important to focus your attention on character development in film. Characters provide a way for you to relate to the film. Characters’ experiences can cause many feelings, such as envy or empathy, in the viewer.
On your diploma exam, you will be prompted to write about the character(s) in a text you studied in the course. The character(s) you studied in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and in the film you chose to study (from the Approved Film List) can be used as examples on your Literary Exploration essay in your diploma exam.
