How do writers select information to convince readers their opinion is worth considering?

In this lesson, you will analyze the elements of an opinion article and plan an article on an entertainment topic that is of interest to you.

Convincing Evidence

In convincing opinion articles, writers state their opinion, then provide specific evidence to support their viewpoint. Evidence may include specific reasons, facts, statistics, examples or details from personal experience.

Convincing Language

Writers make you stop and think about their opinion through use of persuasive words, questions, and strong statements that reinforce the opinion.
