In the middle paragraphs of your opinion article, you will write reasons why you hold your specific opinion. You will support those reasons with specific facts and examples.
Another way for writers to support their opinions is to use counter arguments.
To use counter arguments, writers
- first, explain in detail what an opponent or a person who disagrees with their opinion might say
- then, state they disagree
- then, explain why they disagree and provide details that support their opinion

Next, you will Write in the Counter Argument Style.

- explain in detail what an opponent or someone who does not agree with your opinion might say.
- state that you don't agree.
- explain why you don't agree and provide details to support your opinion. (This may be the same reason, followed by facts and examples as you wrote previously or you may revise and change to address the counter argument.)
