In this unit, you will focus on realistic fiction, which are stories using made up characters and experiences that could happen in real life but did not.


If people, places, and events described in a piece are historically or factually real, the piece is non-fiction. If the story differs from facts slightly, it is a realistic fiction story. This genre is the opposite of fantasy.
