Unit 2

Get The Message!

Lesson 1

Where's The Message?

You send and receive messages all day.

  • You talk to people or have a conversation.
  • You write, draw, or type words or symbols on a computer or smart phone.
  • You listen to and view messages on radio, television, signs, walls, and computer or smart phone screens.

Forms of Messages

Each type of message (such as a symbol, clock, or newspaper) has a purpose.

Some examples are shown in the chart:

  • The first message type is a traffic symbol: a red hand tells you to stop.
  • The second message type is a clock: its purpose is to tell time.
  • The last message type is a newspaper, which informs people of the latest events locally and worldwide.
