Writing a Friendly Letter

A friendly letter is sent from one person to another to share news, say thank you, ask questions or simply to say hello.

Writing letters is not as common as it used to be because people now communicate through e-mail or a variety of other online platforms instead of writing and mailing paper letters.
Knowing how to write a letter is still an important skill as some communication does require a written letter, and because some people do not have computers.

Your job will be to take the role of Laura and write the next letter to Malcolm.
What would her next letter say?
Remember, you are writing from Laura's point of view. (Pretend you are Laura)

Some examples may be as follows:

  • Tell Malcolm what Laura does with her friends after school (From Laura's point of view)
  • Use the word "I" when you are writing as though you are Laura.
  • Ask Malcolm what kinds of hobbies he has.

  • Ask Malcolm if it was hard to learn Braille.
  • Ask Malcolm if he wants to meet sometime.
  • Tell Malcolm about some of Laura's hobbies.
