Research Step 4: Check

A very important step

This is a very important step because it is the last one before you start to create your final product. In this step, you check your notes and questions to be sure you have everything you need. You may find yourself going back and forth through the Search and Share steps and your resources.

You will check for quality as well. Your finished product needs to have good information, not just any information. When you have checked everything, you will organize your information.

Follow the instructions below:

Go back to your original questions. Then, look at your notes. Have all your questions been answered? If not, go back to your resources, or find a new one that will give you the information you need.
Did you find that you had new questions as you went along? Write these new questions down along with the original ones. Then check your notes to see if these new questions were answered. If not, recheck your resources, or find another one that will supply you with the information you need.
Have you written down facts or opinions? Be sure your facts are facts.
Is the information you have found and written down quality information? Is it interesting? Have you included information that many people may not know? When you are sure you have everything ready, it’s time to organize your information.
