Remember, Word Wall Words are the "no excuse" words. Once you have studied them in the lessons, you must spell them correctly from then on, in all your written work. There are six words in each word list for you to practise and you will have a spelling assessment at the end of the unit.

Before you begin reading your first story, flip through the pages of this unit and view the pictures in different stories. In your Reader’s Notebook, write about the following topics:

  • one idea you find interesting about hobbies
  • one hobby you have tried or would like to try
  • one question you have about hobbies
