A useful way to synthesize information is by using a Compare and Contrast diagram or organizer to combine what you know about sharks with what you know about dolphins to find the similarities and differences. This gives you some new knowledge about these sea creature.

If you have never been to camp, go to Kids at Camp to look at some pictures of kids at camp.

The following Compare and Contrast sample examines the similarities and differences of chocolate bars and jelly beans.


Traits that make each item different are listed under its title. Traits that are similar in both items are listed in the middle of the chart and Venn Diagram.
Before completing the activity, you may need to research information about summer camp if you have never been to one. Read some brochures or ask someone about activities people do in summer camps.
