You are going to be directed to create your own news article on your own personal hobby after the next couple of lessons.

To prepare you to write a news story about a personal hobby, you must know how to plan a news article.

The chart on page 17 in Literacy in Action 4B provides an explanation about key elements of a news article.

Your news article should include the following:

• a short headline that hooks the reader's interest
• photos that show action
  
• an introduction with the most important information

• people's exact words (A quote)
• specific details
• a conclusion that leaves readers with something to think about
