Complete the Ideas in a News

Open Your File
Go to your Documents folder and open your saved Ideas in a News
Article

You will need to complete the 5 Ws questions, interesting details in the text, and interesting details in the photographs for your chosen article. Remember to save your work.
Save
How to save a file:
- Have the file open and select Save As from the File menu.
- Name your Ideas in a News Article file in this format: jsmith_ideasinanewsarticle and save the file to your Documents folder.
- This worksheet is similar to homework, which is an opportunity to practise important concepts in the lesson. The worksheet is NOT for marks.
- However, your teacher may ask you to submit this worksheet to check on your progress so be sure to save it in your Documents folder.

Choose six unfamiliar words from your chosen article, recording the page number and what you think the word means. Next, research and write the dictionary definition of the word.

To find definitions, go to
kids.wordsmyth. Type a word in the search area under Word Explorer Children's Dictionary. Compare the definition you wrote with the dictionary definition: is it the same? Record the definition to the word on your sheet.
