Unit 5

Make me laugh!

Game

Verb Tense

Verbs come in different forms.

For example, the word run has these forms: run, runs, running, or ran, depending on how the word is used.

We must use the verb that matches the rest of the sentence. For example:

  • We say the boy (one person) talks, but the boys (more than one person) talk.
  • Jack came (earlier), but he comes (now), and will come (later).

Sometimes a different word has to be used. For example:

  • He is doing it (now), he has done it (earlier), he will do it (later).
  • I go (now), I went (earlier), I will go (later), and Raj goes (now).
