Lesson 2: Algebraic Limits

Algebraic Analysis

When attempting to evaluate a limit algebraically, the first step should be to substitute the value being approached into the limit function. There are four possible outcomes of this substitution:

In this case, because zero divided by any non-zero number is zero, the limit is zero.

In this case, the result is undefined and the limit does not exist.
