Physical Hazards

Physical hazards are the most common workplace threats to your health and safety. They include any unsafe condition that can cause injury, illness or death.

Physical hazards include
  • temperature,
  • noise,
  • indoor air quality,
  • radiation, and
  • mould.
In the agricultural workplace, sunlight is always a concern. Sunlight is the greatest source of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. UV radiation damages DNA, and that damage can lead to skin cancer. When working out-of-doors, always wear a wide brimmed hat, long pants, long sleeves, and sunscreen.
