When selecting a ladder, you need to ask four questions:

• What type of ladder is needed (e.g., a step ladder or an extension ladder)?

• What size of ladder is needed?

• From what material should the ladder be made?

• What load rating is needed?

 

Load rating is the maximum weight a ladder can safely hold. If the ladder you select can't support your weight, plus the weight of your tools, it's the wrong ladder!
