Welcome to Aboriginal Studies 10 

The four themes for the course are:

1. Origin and Settlement Patterns

2. Aboriginal Worldviews

3. Political and Economic Organization

4. Aboriginal Symbolism and Expression

*Note: There is no prerequisite for this 5 credit course.

The grading criteria for Aboriginal Studies 10 is as follows:

EVALUATION - 

    • Assignments: 40%
    • Forums/Discussions: 20%
    • Midterm Exam - 15%
    • Final Project - 25%

The above evaluations will be based on the following outcomes/goals for Aboriginal Studies 10.

Students will:

Outcome 1: demonstrate an understanding of the diverse cultural characteristics, origins, and migration and settlement patterns of Aboriginal peoples.

Outcome 2: demonstrate an understanding of aspects of Aboriginal spirituality and worldviews.

Outcome 3:  demonstrate an understanding of the political and economic organization of Aboriginal peoples.

Outcome 4:  demonstrate an understanding of Aboriginal art forms, oral tradition, and literature.
