1. How do I contact my teacher?

Contact info is posted at the top of the course. Text me, call me, email me AND you can also "message" me right on your course page. See "Message my teacher".

If you want to meet online to go over something we can arrange a Google Hangout, or meet through our BlackBoard Ultra Classroom.

You are also more than welcome to come into the Vulcan, or Picture Butte Outreach to meet with me in person. You must email me to set this up ahead of time as I will be between these two campuses on different days.

2. Where can I find my marks?

You can access your grades through Moodle Gradebook. If you are unsure of how to see your grades, please contact me.

3. What happens if I start late of I hand an assignment in late?

Contact your teacher to discuss either or. Students WILL be suspended from their accounts if there is minimal progress in the course. These suspensions will occur during our mid-semester check-in.

Because Palliser Beyond Borders allows you flexibility, you will NOT be penalized for late assignments as long as you are communicating with your teacher. In other words, Moodle Gradebook and PowerSchool will show "zero" but you can hand in the assignment late as discussed with your teacher.

Please note that there is a FINAL due date at the end of the semester in either January (Semester 1) or June (Semester 2) when all assignments MUST be submitted.

4. What are plagiarism and cheating?

PLAGIARISM: copying words, sentences, PARTS of sentences, . . . .even copying IDEAS that are not yours without referencing where it is you got the information. You will receive ZERO if ANY PART OF ANY ASSIGNMENT WORDS or IDEAS is not your own, is from the internet, another source, or another student.  If you are using someone else's thoughts, cite their work by linking the URL to the paragraph or placing a footnote at the bottom of your written work.

If plagiarism is detected the teacher will advise the student of the plagiarism and inform the student that:

• Credit for the assignment is NOT given.
• Meet with the teacher in person and/or administrator to discuss next steps.

2. Whenever a student has knowingly assisted another student to be dishonest or cheat or plagiarize part or all of an assignment, that student has cheated also. The following may occur:

• Eliminate the credit that the student would have received for his/her own work on the same assignment on which the student assisted another student through dishonesty, cheating or plagiarism.
• Refer the student to the school principal.
