An essential question (EQ) is one that is โ well - essential: important, at the center of the matter โ the essence of the issue. EQs involve important questions that people think about throughout life. They are arguable and do
not have an easy or โcorrectโ answer: it is a concept formed as a question and initiates creative and critical thinking which suggests some deep thinking and inquiry is needed. The answer actually is based on your experiences and those of
others and as such will continue to change and develop over time. EQs exist beyond your experiences in the classroom.

ideas/opinions.
You want to determine your opinion and then choose an experience (and/or text) that fits with and supports your ideas.
