In this project, you must describe a specific location of natural beauty or a natural disaster. You are required to submit this project to your teacher for marks. Very carefully, read the

Project Task
Choose a specific location that can be described as a natural beauty, or a natural disaster, or both. This location should fit into what you studied in this section, such as a part of Earthβs structure or involving earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides, weathering, erosion, or deposition. Your location should have a name, or you should be able to take a photo of it to show your teacher.
Describe the location you have chosen using the vocabulary and processes you have learned in this section. Examples of good choices are the volcano Mount Fuji, the San Andreas Fault in California, or Big Rock in Okotoks.

Method
Choose the way you would like to communicate your location. You can choose from the following ideas.

- Build a model. Photograph or video your model to share with your teacher.
- Use photographs or video. Multiple photos or videos in a multimedia presentation can show the various aspects of your locationβs characteristics.
- Build a structure in Minecraft and take screenshots that you label or describe.
- Write a detailed description or story about your location.
- Use some other creative ideas, but check with your teacher first!

You can provide written answers to these questions, or you can include the answers as labels if you make a drawing or use a photo of your location. Another option is to address these questions by recording yourself on video, or make an audio recording. Be sure to describe your location very clearly.

- What is the name of your location? Where is it? Describe the region and what it looks like now.
- How does your location represent either sudden change or slow-and-steady change?
- What interesting facts about your location relate to the information presented in this section?
- Has your chosen location always been this way? What is the history of your location and various changes to Earth? Describe how it has changed over time and how these changes have affected the people and species around it.
Remember you must describe the place in your own words. Do not copy and paste from various websites. You should use the science vocabulary you have learned in this unit in your descriptions to show your understanding.
