2. This assessment uses the case of a real person in Canada, Gurbaj Singh Multani, whose family challenged a decision made by his school that eventually went to the Supreme Court of Canada.
   
   Your assignment is to research the case and prepare a timeline of ten significant events.             
   
   
   1. What happened?
      
   
   
   2. What was the process by which the case was heard as it went through the justice system?
      
3. To do this assessment, you will need to do the following:
   
   
   • Research the case of Gurbaj Singh Multani.
     
     
   • Make a timeline of important events.
     
     
   • Explain how the case proceeded through the justice system - the levels of the courts, etc. 
4. Complete Section 2 Comparing Democracies which has three parts.
   
   
5. Rank four democratic systems to identify which best represents the principles of an effective democracy.
   
   Prepare recommendations for a fictitious country on how to set up a democratic system that will best meet the country's needs.
   
   Compare your ideal democracy to the democracy in Canada.
