Why do we watch the weather?
Weather has a big role in our lives, and for good reason! This is because the weather affects the quality of our lives.
On a nice day, you may enjoy playing in the snow or relaxing on a beach. On a windy or stormy day, you may avoid going outside.
Because weather can change drastically in a 24 hour period, we rely on people who measure the weather to provide advice about what to expect. People who specialize in studying and learning about the weather are known as meteorologists. To be a meteorologist, you need to know a lot about all the things that make up weather, such as temperature, pressure, humidity, and wind.
Imagine you are interested in a job as a meteorologist, and you have to answer questions in a job interview. Do your best to answer the questions. At the end of this unit, you may return to these questions to see how much you have learned
about the weather.
