A Closer Look at Wetland Life
Wetlands are a unique and fragile ecosystem. Plants and animals that live in wetlands are specially adapted to thrive under those watery conditions. They have found ways to use the water as a source for food and nutrients and as a place to build their homes or lay their eggs.
Choose one plant or animal that calls the wetlands home. You will look closely at this organism to describe in detail how it lives in the wetlands.

Your βA Closer Look at Wetlands Lifeβ project should include pictures and/or diagrams as well as explanations of the following:
- What type of wetland the ecosystem is (include a description of the wetlandβs water, vegetation, soil, living and non-living elements)
- The life cycle of the plant, insect, or animal
- The adaptations that allow the plant, insect, or animal to survive in the wetland
Using relevant images or diagrams, you can choose to construct one of the following:
- poster or brochure
- PowerPoint
Use the Organism Screens from the Wetland Digital Field Trip to get more information about the organism you have chosen to study. As well, some of the websites you have already visited in this section will be useful.
