ELA3105-ABED_1: 3.6 Hamlet Persuasive Speech

You will be writing and recording a speech that is 3 to 5 minutes long.

Step 1	Review your sticky notes on character, paying particular attention to those pertaining to Horatio and Fortinbras. It is essential that you review the rubric for this assignment.

Step 3	As Horatio's lawyer, prepare a speech that will convince your audience (the jury) to give control of Denmark over to Horatio rather than Fortinbras. Your speech will reveal a critical analysis of the characters and events of the play. You will consider what characters say, what characters do, and what other characters say about each other as you make your case for Horatio to become the King of Denmark. You will also need to draw inferences (come to reasonable conclusions based on evidence).
Step 4	Rehearse, record, and submit your oral assignment as a .wav or .mp3 file. Option 1: Record your speech in the 3.6 Moodle submission box using PoodLL. This is the easiest option. Option 2: Create an audio file on your cell phone. Option 3: Students with sufficient computer expertise and a microphone may choose to download Audacity. If you feel comfortable using new software, go ahead! The help guide is located on the tech help page. Your end product will be superior because you'll be able to edit your recording and add sound effects. Option 4 for print students only: Deliver your performance over the phone to your teacher. If your teacher is unavailable, record your performance in voicemail. When you record the response, please provide your name and the assignment name. For example, “This is Riley Booker from English 30-1 calling with the 3.6 speech.”
