The day I saw the dusky red cello I knew it was the instrument for me. At the top of the graceful cello are black tuning pegs holding four silver wires. The warm wood smells like delicate petals on a flower. The strings feel sharp and small to my fingers. I can feel the callouses on my fingers as I push down hard on the tense strings. The cello's tone sounds like a lush, majestic singer. The cello is a magical instrument.
