In Part 1 of assignment 1.4, you took a close look at Mary Pinkoski's poem "What Makes You Come Alive? Now you will complete the chart by analyzing one additional poem. 

Step 1:  Choose ONE poem from this approved list to analyze in the remainder of your Poetry Observation Chart.  You may want to print a copy so you can write notes and observations.
Step 2:  Review Simon’s example assignment as well as his teacher’s comments to give you a sense of what your chart should look like.  REMEMBER:  Simon analyzed a different poem than the one you will use for this assignment. 

Step 3:  Read your poem and then view the video of the poem being recited.

Step 4:  Complete the remaining portion of your 1.4 Poetry Analysis Chart (in Word, Google doc, or PDF). Review the Understanding Poetry Tutorial and the Figuring Out Figurative Language Tutorial for help.

Step 5:  Once your chart is complete, save your assignment on your computer in the following way: Your Full Name 1.4 Poetry Analysis.

Step 6:  Submit your assignment for assessment in the space provided.
