Once you receive passing marks and feedback on your 2.5 plan, it is time to actually write your literary exploration essay using the plan you submitted!
Follow each of these steps, in order, to complete your assignment.
Step 1: Before you begin, examine the rubric to review how you will be assessed on this assignment.
Step 2: Read Tyrone's student example to give you a sense of how your assignment should look, though remember that Tyrone wrote about a text you may not know. You are writing about a text you studied earlier in this course, or you have chosen to wait and write about your course novel once you have read it.

Step 2: Write. Since you have already completed your outline, writing your essay will be relatively easy. You are simply taking your point-form notes in your outline and fleshing them out to form full sentences and paragraphs. Note: You must wait until you receive feedback from your teacher on your 2.6 Literary Exploration Plan before moving on to write the essay. Be sure to look at your teacher's comments on your 2.5 Literary Exploration Essay Plan and apply those suggestions to your essay as you begin writing.
Step 3: Reread your entire response.
- Ensure the development of each of your paragraphs supports the thesis (i.e. controlling idea) of your essay. At the end of each paragraph, connect back to your thesis before transitioning to the next paragraph.
- Consider how you can adjust your sentence lengths and sentence beginnings to create fluency in your writing.
- Proofread your work carefully. Use a (paper or online) dictionary to check the spelling of difficult words.
Step 4: Save your completed rubric in the following way: Your Full Name 2.6 Literary
Step 5: Submit your essay in the space provided.
