Follow each of these steps, in order, to complete your assignment.
Step 1: Before you begin, examine the rubric to see how you will be assessed on this assignment.
Step 2: Next, read Sabah’s 3.3 Annotated Bibliography to see an example of how to complete this assignment. Be certain to read her rubric to see how she was assessed.
NOTE: Sabah researched sources relating to the poem “What Makes You Come Alive,” by Mary Pinkoski (which you studied in Unit 1). You must research sources relating to the play Selfie.

Step 3: Research. Find three different types of sources that you feel could plausibly have influenced the play Selfie. It can be anything from modern society that you think could have had an influence on Bradley Hayward’s writing. To find your sources, search the Internet using different keyword combinations until you find what you need (such as "news AND teenagers AND dealing with divorce"). Contact your teacher if you have difficulty finding what you need.

Step 4: Note it. You will need certain information about your sources to complete the annotated bibliography, so take note of the following for each source you choose. Use this OPTIONAL planning page (in Word, Google doc, or PDF) to help you record your source information.
Step 5: Download a copy of this OPTIONAL template (in Word, Google doc, or PDF) for your annotated bibliography.
Step 6: Create your annotated bibliography by following the instructions on the template.

- You will have three entries—one for each source you found in your research. Review the last few slides of the Finding and Citing Good Online Information Tutorial, which will show you how your bibliography should look and how to put it together.
- Remember, you can use a bibliography creation site such as www.bibme.org to help you. (Here is a video to help you use bibme.org, if you choose to do so.)
- If you need any assistance, click on the apple icon at the top of your screen to find your teacher’s contact information.
NOTE: If you choose to create your bibliography using bibme.org, be careful. If you use the free subscription to the site, your bibliography will expire in 30 hours from the time you begin creating it. To prevent the loss of your work, click the “copy and paste” button under each entry and paste each entry onto another page, and save that page on your computer.
Step 7: Proofread your annotated bibliography.
Step 8: Save your assignment in the following way: Your Full Name 3.3 Annotated Bibliography.
- Be sure the words Annotated Bibliography appear centred at the top of the page.
- Check that your entries appear in alphabetical order.
- Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and ideas are organized in a logical and fluent way.
- Check for correct spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar. Also check that you have avoided any sentence fragments, comma splices, and run-on sentences.

Step 9: Submit your assignment in the space provided.
