Simplify the following complex radical:

m5_eqn462.eps

m5_eqn463.eps

Did You Know?

Radicals can be simplified by multiplying and dividing only if they have the same index. If they do, you can multiply the coefficients and multiply the radicands, m5_eqn464.eps, or divide the coefficients and divide the radicands, m5_eqn465.eps.

In the case of division, n must be a natural number; b and y cannot equal zero; and a, b, x, and y must be real numbers. If n is even, x ≥ 0 and y > 0.
