Module 7
1. Module 7
“Why do I need to know this?” or “When am I ever going to use this?”
Perhaps those are questions you have asked yourself as you have worked through Mathematics 20-2.
The purpose of Module 7 is to give you the opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of a concept you learned in this course and to enable you to see the role that mathematics plays in society. You will find that Module 7 is different from the six modules of Mathematics 20-2 you have completed in that there are no lessons. In this module, your assessment is a project. The specifics of the assessment are provided in the multimedia piece Module 7: Mathematical Research and Review Project.
This project provides you with real-life applications to use the strategies and concepts you have encountered in this course. As this is a major project, it is important that you budget an appropriate amount of time for completing this module.
And hopefully, when you have completed the project, you will have answered your two questions and learned how relevant the skills you have developed and knowledge you have gained in Mathematics 20-2 are in the real world around you.
