HYGIENE

Personal hygiene is important as it helps prevent the spread of illnesses. It is important to wash your hands after using the washroom, after coughing or sneezing, and before preparing and eating food.

Good dental practices, including brushing, flossing, and regular cleanings, will help fight cavities and prevent a future of expensive dental work.

During your teenage years, your body undergoes many changes and you may have to begin new hygiene practices due to these changes. Once you enter the teenage years, you may notice that your skin and hair become oily, your sweat glands become more active, causing you to excrete more body odour, and hair (wanted and unwanted) starts growing all over your body. These changes will likely require you to shower and use a mild soap to clean daily, shampoo your hair more frequently, and possibly begin shaving.
