Social media allows people to connect in ways that were unthinkable even twenty years ago.
Online gaming allows you to join forces with others around the world. You can follow celebrities on Twitter or Facebook in the same way you follow your friends. Classrooms of students can collaborate on projects and learn about each other's culture. The
potential for people to learn together has enormous possibilities.
Like any conversation, there is give and take in social media. As a participant in social media, you have choices about how you will contribute and influence others.
Sadly, some people use social media for negative purposes that intend to hurt others. Others use it to contribute positively, and in so doing, earn the respect and appreciation of those around them. Their social circles are more powerful and endure longer.
