Unit 2

Natural Attractions

"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you." ~ Frank Lloyd Wright

Natural attractions are essential to the quality of life that Canadians enjoy. National and Provincial parks conserve the natural landscapes and wildlife habitat while offering a broad range of outdoor recreational opportunities.

A growing population is creating new pressures on these same parks. Already, many existing facilities are unable to meet the increasing and changing demand for outdoor recreation experiences. Canadians need to recognize that unless these environments are managed responsibly, the beautiful landscape may cease to exist.

National and provincial parks inspire people to discover, value, protect, and enjoy the natural world and the benefits it provides for current and future generations.

Within the six lessons of Unit 2: Natural Attractions, you will analyze the appeal of natural attractions to visitors.
