Unit 4

Recreational Attractions

"People who cannot find time for recreation are obliged sooner or later to find time for illness." ~ John Wanamaker

The main aims of recreational tourism included active participation in some kind of recreational activity, participating in a sport, even as a spectator. These recreational opportunities may either be in natural or man-made environments. In today's fast-paced, stressful world, active recreation assists in the maintenance of well-being, restoration, and improvement of one's health.

In the first lesson within Unit 4: Recreational Attractions, you will learn about some provincial recreational attractions. Secondly, an analysis of visitor trends throughout natural, constructed, and cultural attractions will be discussed.
