Solutions and the Environment

You learned about mixtures and their uses in Section 3.  You learned how to tell the difference between mechanical mixtures and solutions.  You learned how to separate the components of mechanical mixtures and solutions. 

In this section, you will discover the impact of concentrated and dilute solutions on the environment.  You will learn how to identify acids and bases.  You will investigate the corrosion of metals.  

Read the introduction to solutions and the environment on pages 58 and 59 of your textbook.
