Unit 2 Section 2 - Controlling Heat Transfer

You control the temperature of your surroundings when you are in your house or in a car.  When you cannot control the temperature (if you are outside), you use clothes to keep your body at the right temperature.  The science behind controlling heat transfer is very interesting.  Various materials transfer heat differently. Some transfer heat quickly; others transfer heat slowly.  Materials are selected to match their properties to the technology requirements.

Read the introduction to Chapter 6 Controlling Heat Transfer on pages 104 and 105 of your textbook.  Give attention to "What You Will Learn", "Why It Is Important", and "Skills You Will Use".
