Unit 3 Section 4: Maintaining Homeostasis

You do many different things in a single day.  You sleep, eat , exercise, perhaps sit at a desk, play video games, watch TV, and many other activities.  Some take very little energy; others are very demanding.

You might eat very little today because you do not feel hungry, but you might eat a huge supper tomorrow.  Your body does a marvelous job of keeping everything balanced through these variations.

In this section, you will learn how the digestive system and the circulatory system interact to maintain the balance in your body.  You will learn about some disorders of the body that disrupt the ability of the body to maintain proper balance and function.

Read the introduction on page 214 of your textbook.
