Evaluating Advertising


As consumers, we are exposed to advertising everyday.  Athletes face the challenge of evaluating advertising on food and nutrition products. 


Eating healthy can be a challenge in today's society, and part of the battle is determining which foods are healthy and which health products contain ingredients that are safe and beneficial.  For example, many products are marketed as whole grain or low fat, but such might not always be the case.  Protein powder and sports drinks are marketed towards athletes, but are they good for you?  Or, are they always necessary?  Athletes should be aware of how products are marketed and what to look for to make wise and healthy food choices.
