Workbook Summary
In this workbook, you investigated the following questions.
How does being a Canadian influence and affect my individual and collective identities?
How is my quality of life influenced by my government and economy?
Every Canadian citizen has an individual identity. Each citizen may belong to one or more groups. Within these groups, citizens share a collective identity. Throughout Social Studies 9, you will explore issues that impact citizenship and identity. You will understand that Canadian citizens respond to issues based on their individual identity and collective identities. Your individual and collective identities also influence your individual point of view and your group perspective.
Your quality of life is linked directly to your individual and collective identities as well as being a citizen of Canada. Your quality of life is also influenced by political and economic issues that affect the lives of all Canadians. The decisions made by the government and citizens of Canada influence who you are and your quality of life.
