0.5 Connecting with your Classmates
Class discussion is an important aspect of any Social Studies course. Discussing your ideas with others helps you to develop your thinking skills. Discussion allows you to understand the viewpoints of other people who may have ideas and information or other ways of looking at issues that you have not thought about. Learning how other people think helps you understand other people and important issues.

You are required to participate in class discussions for Social Studies 10-2.
-
Course Postings: Several discussion questions are given in the "Forums" area of Social Studies 10-2. Each discussion posting is worth ten points. Your discussions postings are worth 10% of your course mark.
- Be thoughtful and respectful: Please be sure to contribute thoughtfully and respectfully in the discussion area. You should think carefully about your ideas and support them with evidence. You may reply to the comments of others, but avoid "post and run". In other words, avoid comments such as "I agree with Mr. Smith," or "Good point, Johnny," or "That's a dumb idea."
- WARNING: You must follow the acceptable use guidelines while contributing to discussions.
