When deciding to purchase a purebred dog ask yourself: "Am I looking certain characteristics in a dog?" You can be more certain of these characteristics if you choose a purebred of a breed that is known for those qualities. For example, German shepherds are large dogs known for their intelligence. That is why so often they are chosen to be police dogs or guide dogs. If those qualities are very important to you, choose a purebred German shepherd. To decide which breed you require, decide on characteristics you require; then, do some research and choose the corresponding dog breed.
