The lives of Indigenous peoples in Latin America have not improved as much as most people would like.
A relatively new movement in Latin America attempts to improve the lives of Indigenous peoples in Latin America. It is called Liberation Theology, and it is a new way of thinking about the roles of the Catholic clergy and others in freeing the people from poverty and oppression. This movement has become controversial because many leaders of the Catholic Church think it is too political.
You can learn about this movement in the video, Liberation Theology in Latin America.
